Shocking case of family abuse in Mayo

Details have emerged from the Central Criminal court sitting in Castlebar of an alcoholic father who abused his daughters over many years. The abuse was both sexual and sadistic in nature. Some of the details would not be out of place in a low budget horror movie. How can this happen in 21st Century rural Ireland?:eek:
