How can I check if the mobile ph. is stolen or not?

    I have found a good smart phone on the web for 350e and in description seller says that it's a brand new unlocked phone and it was never in use. he also says that the phone is an unwanted upgrade/present.

    so Im afraid that it was stolen from somewhere... is it possible to check that? is there any public black listed IMEI database or something like that?

    If you're getting it from another country the IMEI shouldn't be blocked so it should work.

    If you're buying it from Ireland meet up with the guy, put a SIM into it and try to make a call.
