I am havin problems with my saorview. It worked fine and then it just stopped. I'm now tuning in the channels, getting bits of sound and full subtitles but no picture. The tv is fine as I checked it in my cousins house down the country and I got a lend of my friends tv and the same thing. Any ideas what i can do?

Can you post any information about your aerial: is it outdoor or indoor?

If the tv is alright, the problem could be with anything from the aerial through the cables & any connections, splitters/amplifiers, wallplates etc.

Have you checked any of this?

Where are you located and can you post a pic of the aerial? Do you receive all 4 analogue channels?

Are you using one aerial for both the UK and Irish channels?

Does your aerial look lile one of these? If it looks like the first one is there a plastic coloured bung at the end of the aerial, if so, what colour is it?

If you only have one aerial, it's more than likely wideband (probably a grid type) for receiving from Clermont Carn (Irish channels) & Kilkeel (UK analogue only).

The coloured bungs denote aerial groups: Clermont is group C/D (upper UHF channels, green bung) & Kilkeel group B (middle of UHF tv band, yellow bung), so a wideband or semi-wideband (group E) aerial is preferable if you want both. Also, these coloured bungs are not used by all aerial makers.

This happened to me too. We're in Sligo. Was working fine yesterday and has never been a problem but today its not working. Its 32 inch LG HDTV and is all tuned correctly. Can view the programme guide but no signal and teletext isn't working either. Can pick up the analogue signal but no saorview sound or picture :confused:
