A lot of Germans don't have a paypal account and pay the rather oldfashioned way (bank transfer). So nothing unusual or sinister with above request.

If you accept bank transfer, you write:
Ja, ich akzeptiere auch Überweisungen. (Yes, i do accept bank transfers).

If not:
Tut mir leid, ich akzeptiere nur paypal (Sorry, I only accept paypal)

Bank transfers from Germany to an Irish bank account take about two days.
