Anyone have any opinions on this? One thing which confuses me is the spec mentions it will play media on DLNA compliant devices.....but surely the media player only needs to be DLNA compliant to stream media to the tv for example??

was looking at this myself today but dont really know much when it comes to media players.. media centers with hard drives, streaming etc etc..

is it possible to have a type of setup where i download films to my computer, drag and drop to an external hard drive and then just sit down and watch it on tv? ie. the hard drive is hooked up to both simultaneously without the need to unplug from comp and into tv. is it something like this i need or a hard drive alone or both? would this have a xbmc type interface?

sorry for long question just a bit confused, thanks

WDTV Live media player will do this.
This is the one I have, there is a newer model and you may get it cheaper than Amazon.

I bought the 2500 version off ibood about 3 years ago?

I still use it today over my wdtv and Asus o player. Though my TV can play a lot of the stuff now too.

I nearly bought this one today but I don't really need it.

Didn't stop me still having another look at it about 30 mins ago before I came to boards.

    Still....soooo....tempted.....

If it is anything like the 2500 I would highly recommend it.

You can also keep the files on your PC and provided it and the player are on your home network, just play the files directly from your PC. I tend to use a hard drive most of the time though.
