Hi, Can anyone please recommend/PM me with a reliable Sat installer over here in the West?
Want to get a Triad TD110 Sat (Motorized) & T90 (Fixed, 4 lnb) set up pre-xmas as I'm too busy at work at the mo.
    Thanks in advance :)

Steve at satellitetv.ie would be your best bet. Installed a 90 cm motorised dish for me no probs at all.

    Hi,

Not answering his phone at the mo - I just want fitting - does he charge per hour or per job?

Did you find an installer in the end?

Might require one myself, am in Galway City.

Yes, Found a guy... he squeezed me in xmas week & needs to return this week as it was his first time putting up a T90& it was getting dark and we only had time to get one lnb set up.
Nice guy, will let you know how we finish up & will PM details if it goes to plan etc

Why would you get someone that's never installed one before? The chances he gets it right are very slim.

This must be one of the daftest posts I've read here; on what do you base this presumption?

Would you be shocked to learn that there are installers & enthusiasts alike who actually understand the principles behind satellite reception using different antenna types & can apply this understanding without endless trial & error?

How is this installer supposed to gain experience? Buy his own T90 to practise on? At least he admitted he hadn't installed one before.

Peter, you are bang on - the installer wanted to put one up as he had heard good things about them & I think he said he may have had a few inquiries about the T90.
Furthermore, he is to put up a Triad TD110 + motor for me too.

Shlob - this guy installs Satellites for a living - I bought the Triad from him several weeks before, I saw his van, all the equipment (expensive Horizon Satellite finder etc) & he could give me references. I would not buy a pig in a poke.
