Anybody else having issues with meteor since last night?

Was getting 5.50Mbps constantly for the past 6 weeks including peak times but then last night the software just disconnected me from the internet and now all I can get when it works is 10kbps. I always had full 4 bar coverage and hspa but now it goes from no service to edge and basically it disconnects itself every 20 seconds. Also when trying to load a web page it comes up as "unable to reach server"

Meteor deny any problems in my area and say I am too far from the last or others are online but when I aked why it went from full hspa 4 bar signal to no coverage or edge in the space of a few seconds they couldn't give me an answer.

Then I asked if congestion was the issue how could I be mid download getting 5.50Mbps and then all of a sudden get 10kbps again they couldn't answer. If it was congestion then surely the speed would decrease throughout the day and not all of a sudden?

Also I said if I was too far from the mast as they suggested then why was I getting full 4 bar coverage up to now but then the sudden change. I said the house must be moving then

Anyone else facing these kind of issues all of a sudden?

hey it's bad here since the morning. there was a power outage for a while and really bad weather, so i'd say that might be it. posted that on meteors forum, but they never bothered themselves replying. i have to give them a ring tomorrow morning and see what they say. check tomorrow afternoon, i'll keep you updated.

    Hi there 2twelve

I was actually chatting to you over on the meteor forum, I'm "Please Hold" on there lol

They told me today on the phone that they boosted the signal for the first month but now that I can't do anything on the internet they don't care I'd say. Will probably have a hard time trying to cancel but I'm ringing their Dublin number tomorrow to see how it goes. Has your speed improved at all today?

"Boosting the signal" is a fob-off. There's nothing they can do to improve the signal going to you, short of installing more cells.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but they used that just as an excuse. In the past 5 minutes the internet seems to have returned to normal somewhat. Getting 3.70Mbps down and 2Mbps upload, I used to be getting 5.50Mbps but at least I can use the service now again.

Very strange that tech support had no idea why I was getting 0.02Mbps all day and just slated out excuse after excuse.

they must have started busting the signal back :D or your house moved back towards the mast. anyway, it works for me again as well, so we might be fine from now on. take care and enjoy

I was with three on bill pay though for about two and a half years and to be honest I fount them brutal. I had to involve comreg in the end so I could get out of contract fee free. I was getting 0.02Mbps download speed with three so basically I was just paying them for not being able to use the internet.

I'm not sure what they're like on pre pay but three in general are very inconsistent regards speed. They might have being doing something to the mast to cause the slow speeds but you can never get a straight answer from three so who knows.

Meteor started working for me again last night and it's going well so far....

Mine was very bad for two days. Kept getting edge and once connected the software would disconnect me every few seconds, very frustrating. Meteor said there was nothing wrong in my area and couldn't give an answer as to why the connection was all over the place.

It came back to normal after a while and now everything seems grand.

Hopefully yours will be back to normal soon.
