Have a 2l Auto Legacy estate for the last few years , running great & am looking to keep it for the forseeable.

Its now at 130,000 miles & looking to see what work I need to do to keep it going. Am changing the front shocks and wishbone bushes in the next few weeks anyway, but what else e.g. auto transmission oil, should really be done at this stage in its life to keep her running smooth?

My bet would be was the timing belt/water pump done at any stage.

If not, they'd be on my list.

(Great car too, have an Impreza wagon myself :D)

The lads over on www.isdc.ie are also worth chatting to, if its

    Subaru they'll know it.

As Muckie said, make sure the timing belt was done.

Have you had the brake fluid changed? If not, it might be a good idea to change it. It usually should be changed every 2 years and it's generally something that's overlooked during routine servicing.

Also you might want to flush and refill the cooling system, especially now it's winter.

Other than that it's just general servicing that you should do. Do check for any manufacturer specific service items for that mileage though. Have a look on Legacy enthusiast forums or failing that, give the dealer a ring and they should be able to tell you.

Timing belt is due every 60,000 miles or 5 years so is overdue its second change at this stage.

Brake fluid is due every 2 years,

Fuel filter due every 60k or 5 years also,

Autobox oil and front and rear diff oil change due every 36k or 3 years, as is a coolant change,

Air filter and spark plugs are due every 24k or 2 years with the oil and filter due every 12k/1 year.

That should be about it for the schedualed items.....lots of service history checking I'd say:P
