I need to buy 3 ghd's for Christmas presents and have been searching
online. This site has great value and to me seems ok but has anyone any idea about it or bought from it?

I'd go to the official ghd website, I've had a few friends buy knockoffs off websites claiming to be official...

This is the official site for ghd products.

Thanks all, its shocking how they are allowed to trade via these web sites.

I found good deals on amazon.co.uk

I'd bought my ghd from my hairdresser, I got the website from the label.

If you're worried about fakes go to a hair salon that sells them, a proper ghd won't go for very cheap. As far as I know anyway :)

Christmas before last my daughter wanted GHD straighteners for christmas and we bought some online, I usually know what to look for but they turned out to be fake.
We were very Peed off to say the least. As Christmas got nearer my wife was panicking because she thought our daughter would be upset so she went into town and paid full whack for a set from the hairdresser.
Anyway the Real DHG packed up a few months after christmas, repaired and returned, all fine again, then after 12 months after they broke again, went to the bin.
The FAKE ones are still working fine and have been all along.
    Strange but true.....

I ordered 3 from lookfantastic.com, its an approved stockist I checked as kik and moss recommended.

They work out at around E100 each as delivery is free.

Just hope they arrive for Christmas now

I would advise you throw them out, if you do insist on using them at least to not leave them plugged in.

A fake handbag fails and the makeup falls out, a fake GHD fails and your house burns down. I have examined a fake version of a high power machine, the wiring was very unsafe and a definite fire hazard.

Your genuine GHDs might have had safety devices which were triggered, like fuses & overheat switches, the fake ones probably have no built in fail safes.

People might be using these with wet hands too, it might not even be earthed (another fail safe which may have been triggered)

Fakes can also be seized at customs

Have a look at tricks they use here, such as adding weights to a power adapter to give it a better feel
