Hi am looking for a new car and am going to view a 01 Seat Leon this afternoon, in pictures it looks great but just wondering if anyone knows what exactly to look out for in these cars at that age? Heard they can be hard on oil but at what mileage does this start happening, any particular pitfalls in them? Have had leon's for last 7 years but mine were alot newer so never had any problems with them(until I had fight with a pole and the pole won:(:()

My folks have a 02 since new. I think there is about 90K miles on it.

Serviced at the recommended intervals. No issues with oil. In fact, it's been fairly trouble-free, the only things that were ever replaced were 2 coil packs (both failed within a couple of months of each other), and the driver door had the well documented, easily fixed, leaking door issue. Battery was also replaced recently too, but I guess 9+ years from a battery isn't bad going.
