The changes could affect a couple of Irish athletes such as David Gillick, Joanne Cuddihy, Mary Cullen and Jessie Barr. In fact, for Jessie Barr, it now means that she is now in possession of a B-standard for the Olympics.

    Great news for Jessie Barr.

45.30 is quite a strong time for the 400 A-standard IMO relative to the overall strength of the event worldwide at the moment. Very difficult qualification, though I'd expect Gillick to be well under it again next year. Tall order for Gregan though but hopefully he can bag a strong B-Standard.
