immersion valve

    Can anyone tell me what these two taps do on my immersion tank?
    I'm guessing they control the pipes from the gas burner but not certain.
    What I am looking to do is control the amount of hot water the immersion tank is taking from the radiators.
    I'm not sure whether to adjust the vertical or horizontal pipe/valve.

    u need to think about fitting a tank stat to a zone valve so as when tank reached temp valve turns off. plenty room in the press to fit this stuff

    That’s something I might look into in the future but I’m looking for a way to balance the system without a further cost.
    Are those valves the right place to start?

    The blue circled valve is your Hot Water Check Valve, this regulates how much water goes through the coil in the cylinder... Having this open fully will result in loss of circulation to the rads. It should really only be open about a quarter.

    The Green circled one, I presume, is a Summer valve. Closing it will shut off the rads completely, meaning the heating will only heat the water, ideally for summer.... But I cant be positive of that one
