Car failing to start again

    Golf 1.4 petrol 2006


    Hi, for the last three years around this time my car for one day has failed to start with the red oil lamp coming on and three beeps.

    the first year it happened the oil pump failed (so the VW garage said)
    last year they couldnt find anything wrong and then all of a sudden they said it was a software error

    I really cant be arsed taking it in this year.

    She started up today after leaving my foot on the throttle and no lamps etc have come on ...any ideas what is going on with the car ?


    Note: im recently after topping it up with oil 2 days ago if that would have anything to do with it

    Is the oil at the correct level on the dipstick now?

    Did you overfill it? We can't really go out and check the oil level in your car for you. Shouldn't effect starting anyway.
