handbrake will tackle pretty much anything you throw at it

If it's just on to your Hard Drive then all you need is DVDFAB

Handy guide if you want to go abit further with them.

Never mind the parts with Fixvts and VobBlanker, you don't need them.

DVDFab burns audio only - no video

Handbrake burns the first few minutes of the title and nothing else.

    WinX Ripper crashes at 99%

Any other suggestions? All I want to do is convert DVD to WMV and upload the latter to YouTube.

Are you trying to burn a copy of the disc to DVD or rip to your hard disk? If ripping to hard disk I would choose the AVI/Xvid codecs for the video and audio, handbrake should support this. The fact that you are hearing audio only/no video suggests to me you are missing some codecs, a simple solution to this is to use a player that ships with all codecs like VLC Player or install a codec pack

Thanks for that. I am trying to rip the DVD to my hard disk - into a suitable format that can be uploaded on YouTube. I will try VLC player.

Youtube should not have an issue with an Xvid encoded video,
