Myself and my boyfriend have 50,000 euro saved for a house someday with Nationwide Uk. I rang them today to ask them what would happen to my saving if the euro was to collapse- would they be converted into an punt nua or sterling. He replied i cannot tell you that as we are seeking legal advise on the matter, when pushed when this legal advise would make its decision he could not tell me.I feel very spooked by it all, I think i would rather the scenario of them changing it to sterling. Anyway i find it mad that unlike rabo bank who will tell you it will be converted to punts, Nationwide uk Ireland won't tell us. Not sure what to do.
