Planning Advise - "need for housing"

I am currently hoping to apply for planning on a 1/2 acre site on my fathers farm. The only worry I have is that myself and my wife currently own and reside in a property in a south west city approx 30 miles from my home parish (city and home are in same county).

I am worried that if I declare this current situation the local planning authority will refuse planning based on the fact that we dont have a "need for housing"

I'm still on the voting register and have my car registered & passport etc at my original home address.

Can anyone advise as to the best course of action when filling out the planning forms - should I say I own a second home or should I fail to mention same???

You really need to read the forum charter particularly section 6.1.
