    Hi guys,
Just a quick question. We were thinking of getting a new stanley stove put in the conservatory. But the only wall where it would be most beneficial is drylined with thermaboard. Is it ok to get it fitted here or would it burn/damage the thermaboard? Any advice appreciated.

Should be OK. Should be 12.5mm board before thermaboard. The plasterboard is heat resistant and if it has been skimmed I so no reason why you would have trouble.

On a separate point anyone seen the danger of polystyrene external wall insulation going on fire? Looks bad as poly is toxic when on fire and the flames are supposed to make it too difficult for emergency services to get into burning houses.

Hi you would be better to put a heat shield (scamill board, tile or similar) in front of the plasterboard to prevent heating of insulation behind the plasterboard this would allow you to put the stove around 100mm in front of wall.
Without this it is advised to keep the stove 3 times the diameter of the flue pipe in front of the wall 450mm (middle of the room)
Advice from section j british regulations, maybe overkill but better safe than sorry
