REPORT from today with jason he was looking for help with pigeons on oil seed rape we had a cracking day bag was over 130 pigeons plenty of birds . As we setup on the flight line plenty of decoys out 60 odd between us the sun was blinding us we bagged 30 odd birds in the first hour then we were both thinking about moving down 20 yards to the side of a gate way .We moved the gear left the decoy pattern as it was still good fixed up the dead birds then the sport started jason using his browning gold semi auto i had my browning 425 sporter we had good craig all day plenty of good shots and some shots wondering how we missed some of them :rolleyes: . there was some great crossing shots by us both along with driven birds time went quick we cleaned up the dead birds every so often we chatted all day about shooting from deer to foxes nice to talk to someone with the same interest we picked up some of the bag before it got to dark hard to take pics when you want to shoot just want to thank jason for the day looking forward to it again thanking you my saying for the day ( ALL I WANT TO DO IS GIVE THE PIGEONS 1 OZ OF LOVING )

I was out on Friday myself. set up a good hide and about 20 decoys and only bagged 8 pigeons:o
plenty of birds but they were in huge flocks, miles high and had no intrest in the decoys?
have had good results there in the past as its in a good flightline.

What shot size and weight shells were ye using for the pigeons?

Hi we were using a combo of trap 7.5 and 32 gram 6s tbh the 32 gram 6 were better cleaner kills and good ranges .When we moved down the field we got the chance of better shots more crossers but some of the pigeons were coming straight into us we were shooting them less than 8 yards i would recommend using 32 grams this time of year over decoys im sure jason will agree with me

hi there lads yes i have to agree with my very good friend there 32 grams really do solid damage to the pigeons none of theis walking pigeons around or anything like that looking forward to be doing it soon again

I'm not incredibly experienced with a shotgun but would love to try this sometime if you've got space for a relative novice.
