I thought it was a great episode but the very end was a bit crap.
if anyone from Miami Metro listen to the 911 call, Dexter is ****ed.

It was a big improvement over last week (that wouldn't be hard) but one thing that really annoyed me is Dexter calling 911. Similar to last weeks running around the university and being seen by security cameras but wouldn't they listen to the 911 call and say "hey that's Dexter"?

Very good episode, and looks like it set things up nicely for the last two. I have a feeling the sh*t is going to hit the fan, big time. Based on the promo for next week, either
    Batista
    or the
    new disciple lady
hasn't got too much longer to live. Probably the latter....

This episode was god-awful, the writing is beyond atrocious on this show now.

Dexter calls 911 on his own phone, doesn't bother to change his voice or anything.

Anvil-tastic exposition scene between Hanks and Olmos, all right in front of a window Dexter happens to be at.

A police chief gives his real name while ordering flowers for a prostitute. Really?

Deb takes ten seconds to solve the case, while the guy in the flower shop is falling over himself to give out private customer details just because someone says she's a cop.

This season has been abysmal, the shark has been well and truly jumped, wrapped in plastic and stabbed in the chest.

I had forgotten this forum was here...Agree with the above anyway. This show has gotten so horrifically god awful bad it's amazing to think that it was once actually good. The writing is almost insulting at this stage. Lazy, non sensical rubbish. I really didn't think it could get worse than last season but they've somehow managed it. Two more years of this? No thanks.

Disappointing season so far. Main thing I find so dull about it, is that Dexter never seems to be in any hard to get out of situations. He never seems to be in risk of getting caught by the cops. Also in last weeks episode
Were Dexter and Tom Hanks son are are sitting in the car outside of college. How come Dexter and him spot Gellar going in to the college since he has been dead all along. Don't remember it being only Tom Hanks son spotting Gellar going into the college

It was just Colin Hanks. I remember noticing at the time that dexter was looking away and thinking 'how convenient'

Im new to this and I dont know how to unblock ur spoilers :( or how to include a few of my own... help??

But I kinda think this series is picking up, and i even went on youtube to look at the trailer for next week... it seems to hint at something romantic for an unexpected character... anyone else see it??

Details relating to this or previous episodes shouldn't need spoiler tags, as the thread title says [SPOILERS WITHIN].
I think anything regarding future episodes, trailers etc. should have them though.

Totally agree with TwoShedsJackson, this was so bad it was actually insulting. The writing really is just pants. The most irritating thing is Dexter's narration of every little thing: I'm not an idiot, I don't need a constant inner monologue to tell me what's going on or what a character's thoughts may be. Lazy refuge for writers who can't put together meaningful or exciting dialogue and/or actions.

Just highlight the blackened text to unblock spoilers.
To put in spoiler tags insert [S POILER] text [/S POILER] without the space between the S and P to give
    text

This season looks like it will end with Debs suspecting Dexter - there were so many clues to this in this week's episode.

While complaining about the show is plenty pointless at this stage, in the early days Dexter killed people who escaped justice.

But now he is just killing the killer, surely thats against the code, which was to keep him protected more than anything else. As other posts mentioned he would be caught on security camera by now, the whole Kyle Butler thing and no doubt many many more.

The cops even the ones in this show should be able to capture Doomsday by now. Dexter is not even trying to get the doomsday killer help, the man is clearly mentally ill.

This is my last season of watching it. two more seasons of this, no chance.

You forgot the cliched incompetent security guard at the marina. The way he never made sure the door had closed behind him was another "highlight". Then he conveniently has a smoke just long enough for Dexter to pinpoint in minutes the security footage on a computer system he had never used before.

This is has been the best episode in a string of about 5 or 6 weak ones. I really hope that the louis storyline turns out well. What this season lacks is the feeling that dexter will be caught. That is when dexter is really really good. he seems to have gotten comfortable in sauntering around killing people.( or not killing people as most of this series has been).
This season is far to focused on him killing ddk than actually fulfilling his urges in every episode
Really hope this picks up for the next two seasons. That's not to say that i dont like it, i still think it is better than season 5.

EDIT- I hope they kill off La Guerta, never liked her character

I'm *really* hoping that the next episode is like the CTU terrorist episode of 24. As in the poison kills pretty much everyone in the cop shop. (We'll leave Masuka and Dex alone though)

Also, still trying to work the angle on Masuka's asst. Does he know Dex is the Bay harbour butcher or what? Could he be setting himself up to be the villain in the next season?

Judging on some of the writing in this series, i doubt they have that much foresight,

He might decide to try out being a serial-killer to improve his game.

As I said in the other thread, they need to get back to basics. Dexter killing bad people to sate his blood thirst....and somebody who is actually on to him.

That 911 scene in the last episode summed it up perfectly. There is simply no danger of getting caught anymore. Remember doakes finding him at the shipyard? Remember Dexter's slides being paraded through the precinct? remember doakes finding the cabin? Remember dexter crashing his car with a body in the trunk? Remember Lundy hunting the bay harbour butcher? Trinity knowing who dexter was?

Feck it, even Quinn looking for Kyle Butler. This show needs tension and at the moment there is none. We all know Tom Cruise Jr will end up under the knife. There is little drama here.

    :(

Hanks' character is a lot better now that he's not walking around like a lost child, although he looks too much like Forrest Gump in that cap.

    Infanticide? Dexter getting started early?

The writing in this series has been poor, but they cudnt keep doing the same thing season in season out like some of u are saying. Thats not what makes a great series. Stuff that worked in the first few seasons to develop the character wont work as well here, will just end up being tedious to watch. I like the spontinuity of this season, forgetting the obvious flaws,
