I was just wondering what options are available for someone with an LLB and the BL degrees in London?

Is the route to practice at the bar over there a tough one in that there is the problem of finding a chambers to take you on, and are there any more qualifications needed?

What about working for a law firm over there? Would there be a need to re-qualify in anything?

    Thanks.

For direct transfer over you need 3 years PQE as a barrister. Otherwise it is exams and I think pupilage. You could get in house work with out PQE but you could not act as a barrister unless called in the UK.

Any good chambers are impossible to get into unless you just want a door tenancy, there is an Internet chambers based in Milton Keynes.

    Thanks for that!

About the in house work, what kind of firms would I look to? Banks?? Or is there any chance of getting into a law firm?? I'm unsure as of the route to explore. I dont particularly want to apply for a traineeship starting in 2014 when I'm almost a qualified Barrister!

Banks law firms both good options, but remember at best you would be a legal exec or researcher, the UK currently like Ireland has a large number of qualified unemployed solicitors and barristers.
