Gas Boiler & fire

    I am looking at changing / upgrading my boiler and putting in a gas fire also.
    We are currently using LPG, am waiting a year for the crazy price that Board Gas gave me to be deleted from the system before we can apply again and hopefully get a more reasonable price.
    My question is;
    Can I get a boiler & fire that will be able to take both LPG (now) and natural gas (next year) without expensive changes?
    Thanks!

    I don't know about gas (open-) fires.
    But most gas boilers can be adjusted to run either on LPG or on natural (methane) gas.
    Some boilers can be adjusted by the householder to take different gases by simply pressing a button (LPG or methane), others need the input of an installer.

    Get a heating engineer or similar in to advise you, there is more than fuel prices to be considered. Get a thermal demand analysis done according to EN 12831, without knowing the minimum and maximum demand no one can seriously advise on a boiler size or type.

    :eek:

    Some gas boilers can be converted very easily but still have to be checked for safety, incorrect conversion can and has led to death(s) so I wouldn't advise any button pushing. As for fires, if you tell your supplier or RGI they should find a fire that suits and can be converted easily.
