A little bit of an oversight on my part, I imported a car from Australia in the Autumn. I hadn't considered it's suitability for winter as it's currently set up. Would it have anti-freeze? Anything else I need to worry about? It's an 06 Audi A4 B7 1.8T.

It should be fine. Is the coolant in the expansion tank pink?

I checked and coolant could probably be described as pink. Perhaps slightly orange.

Because I didn't sell it in time.

A simple and quick check in any decent garage will tell you the antifreeze level of your coolant, or Halfords sell a cheap antifreeze tester.

If its got the correct spec coolant in it then it should be fine anyway.

Was serviced recently by an independent Audi specialist so should be to spec. It will be going for NCT soon so we'll see if anything else comes up.

From looking through various audi specification codes, I see codes for warm countries and cold countries.
Would there be any issues with the setup of the cooling system of the engine if designed to operate in a warmer climate? Australia wouldnt be the worst in this regard I guess though.

The independant specialist may not have checked the coolant if he was not asked to and the NCT do not check coolant strength. Furthermore the coolant colour can not be relied on, especially if the car has been imported from another part of the world. Around here we understand red, blue and green coolant to mean particular types of coolant, but in other parts of the world they use different colours. The best thing to do is buy one of those simple testers with the floating balls and test it yourself.
