I definitely saw a 7 string Ibanez in one shop a few years ago. The simplest thing to do might be to ring around and ask.

You could also have a look around EBay or Advert.ie for folks in your area selling the type of guitar you're looking for. Failing that, I've got an Ibanez K7 that you can have a play on if you're in the Galway area.

Oh very nice. Id prefer a k7 to the latest ones on offer. Was looking for one a while back but ended up buying a S7320 with Evo pickups from a lad in the UK (ebay). Only thing I regret is not buying a 7 string years ago!

It sure is :). I alternate between playing bass and guitar and when I've been away from it for a while I'm always struck by how playable the K7 is. I imported mine from Ishibashi a few years ago and it was well worth it. Just checking there and they actually have one for sale at the moment. The price seems a bit excessive at JPY98,000 (€940) though.

I haven't played a guitar without a low B in years. It's only one string and a few extra notes but I find it does open up a lot of possibilities.

jesus they (both yours and the one for sale) are very nice indeedy!
dont go putting idea's into my head now to be thinkin about a K7 lol, although if it was last year I would have bought it already. Happy with the S7320 Ibanez and it sounds great but I would certainly take a K7 if was offered one at the right price. €980 plus is a little pricey as you say. Still, they're hard to come by at the minute.

According to here they've been out of production since 2006 and replaced with the Ibanez Apex so that might account for the price increase.

dont like the apex at all. think the k7 is based on the RG series guitars with a revised trem system. if i had my way, id be havin a universe but they're megabucks at this stage.

qtn for ya. what gauge are you running on your strings? I have normal to .46 set and lo b is a .60

Yep, that's the same gauge that I use.
