Hey guys, I wanted to give you the heads up about a relatively new Irish VOIP provider I came across called Vomino

Their website can be found at www.vomino.ie

They are offering a free trial here

You can use your iphone or Android phone or PC to test the service

Although the trial page says you only get 30 minutes free to call any landline in the world, you actually get €5 free credit to call mobiles and 70 minutes to call landlines (There is no catch) when you take a trial. That's a good few free calls to mobiles considering that their rates to mobiles are only 8 cent per minute. This special offer expires on December 11 though so claim your free €5 credit ASAP.

I have been testing the service the last few days via my iphone and the call quality has been excellent.

I had a technical question so I emailed support at 9:45pm and I had a reply 15 minutes later (impressive)

I like this service so much that I intend to take out a 12 month subscription for €40 (after I use up my trial credit), which includes free land calls anywhere in the world and free calls to USA and Canadian mobiles for 12 months. It also includes:

    • Free Vomino to Vomino calls at all times
    • Free Irish landline phone number (076 or 01)
    • Free VOIP application (Android and Iphone)
    • No contract required
    • No connection fees/call setup charges
    • Per second billing
    • Free 24/7 customer care (free phone number)
    • No roaming charges
    • No credit expiration dates (if you purchase additional credit)
    • Free Voice mail
    • Free balance enquiry
They also offer a free telephone adapter if you wish to use the service on your home phone but I'm gonna choose the iPhone option so I can effectively carry my (01) Dublin land line number with me wherever I am in the world which is super handy as I travel frequently.

I know Blueface are a popular choice on boards.ie as a VOIP provider but before I signed up for a vomino trial I researched many of the VOIP provides such as Goldfish, Blueface, Zen telecom and Rynga to name but a few but Vomino seems to offer the best value of them all.

They have no other sneaky charges such as adding VAT on top when you buy call credit (If you buy €10 worth of credit it costs €10, not €12.50) or call setup/connection fees or anything like that from what I can see.

The plan is to cancel my UPC phone service when I take out my Vomino subscription.

Its also worth mentioning that I have no affiliation with Vomino, I only heard of the company a few days ago, but have been impressed with their packages and excellent customer service so far.

If someone knows of a better VOIP package than this, please post it here for the rest of us.

No go claim your free €5 credit my fellow boardies :D

    Enjoy !!

Biggest problem with these is that when you call someone your own mobile number doesnt appear as the person calling. Your VOIP number dispays.
Its important nowadays to allow the caller id to display your own number as people dont tend to answer blocked or unknown numbers anymore.
And they might want to call you back when they see the number. But its not a real number.

I don't think companies will be allowed to change the number displayed but could be wrong, never heard of anyone else doing it, Eircom, Vodafone, Blueface, etc but would be a good idea if it could be done.

Spam? What are you talking about?

I've already stated that I have no affiliation with vomino, I posted to alert people to the €5 free call credit that's up for grabs.

If you still think I'm a spammer I invite you to check through all of my other posts on this forum and I assure you there are no mentions of vomino.

    Have you checked configuration here

The other software I used in the past is Xlite to configure you can search google or search other voip providers how to configure it. ;)
