touchscreen acer aspire problem

    hi guys and gals,
    have a slight problem, got a new acer aspire laptop 5738pg, touchscreen , 13 months ago. last week while cleaning the screen it cracked. just the touch screen, screen behind is still perfect. rang acer and it is 460 sterling for nem touchscreen, or digitizer as its called. anyone got any idea of a cheaper fix. was considering arguing with acer but they have no office in ireland.
