I'm afraid TM aren't full metal due to the laws in Japan, but that means that they're more gas efficient and are slightly less prone to cool down in the winter.
Is there any style you like yourself?
I'd reccommed the TM FN Five-Seven or TM PX4, if you want a metal pistol you'll be looking at other brands like KJW, KWA and so on.

That mean TM are a more practical skirmish pistol? as for style, would prefer o stay away from glock or m9,the 57 looks tasty.

I can reccomend the TM px4 first hand, ive had one a while now and i love it, its the only TM that you can adjust the hop up without haveing to open it up, and it has the adjustable back straps for comfort, and obviously it has amazing accuracy and range due to it being TM

I'd say your best bet with the Five-Seven would be to hold it first, a couple of friends of mine don't like the feel of the pistol.
Another pistol I'd recommend from my experience is the KWA USP compact, I've had it for nearly a year now, no problems and works a good as ever, the range is pretty amazing on it too imo. It has a metal slide and a plastic lower.
And yeah the TM pistols are real skirmish pistols, well the newer ones anyway.

Pistols are very personal. VERY personal. What you and I find comfortable can be completely different things, and what I find utilitarian you could find boring etc.

So my question to you is, what pistol? What do you like? Beretta M9? 1911? P226? MK23? USP? PPK? Glock? You see where I'm going with this...

And then, when you've looked at a pistol that pleases you on an aesthetic level, then there's picking it up. You should always hold a pistol before buying it...it's the only sure fire way of knowing that it will suit you. Pick it up, manipulate it a little and see if you can use the gun comfortably.

Next comes brand; you want to choose one in budget, and the best of 'em. But best is a loaded term - you've got a choice between realism, reliability and accuracy. Unfortunately it is rare that they are mutually exclusive.

Have you any idea what you're looking for, or even anything you would like?

My first priority is reliability, then power, closely followed by accuracy. Mag capacity is also important. Used a tm g26 felt good but only had 15 bbs. tm beretta tactical master looks good to me

well the TM berettas are quite out dated now considering they dont have an adjustable hop up, but as for the glock, if you like the feel of it but the nags are too short you could always go for a TM G17. its a bit bigger and has a much bigger magazine

I'd take accuracy over power, but that's just me, in my experience, get the TM Five-seveN, if you're looking for the TM ones, I personally have a Co2 powered KJW M9, got it from Hobbyairsoft, great pistol, shoots hard accurate and never let me down in cold weather as it's CO2, do need a new mag as the high pressure form the CO2 keeps wrecking the vavles, only con I've found on that sidearm but like Inari said it's personal choice.

Half thinking now of getting a mp5k pdw, cyma or galaxy, hmmm. Or am I better off getting optics etc for my aeg.

Im a pistol whore so i guess i can shine some light on this. CO2 or green gas is really up to you which one you want but with some mags co2 is better. Like the colt 1911 mag is normally skinny. So it does not hold much gas your getting maybe 7-10 shots from a 25 round mag, Also depending if its full metal or plastic you will get more or less shots due to the weight of the slide. I have two colts a 1911 and a meu 45 both use skinny mags and are full metal and they are my fav pistols even if i am only getting 7 shots per mag.
M9s are a very good pistol they empty the full mag of 25 shots because its a nice thick mag holds lots of gas! So if im going on a Sunday skrim i take my 1911s if im going on a milsim game i take the m9. All my guns are green gas apart from my revolver its co2. I get about 130 shots per co2 caps only thing about it is my revolver is a 6 shot gun but had to buy one.

Question now is do you want a pretty side arm or a reliable one i can recommend both the full metal colt and m9 colt being prettier in my eyes and the m9 being more reliable with a bigger mag. My first side arm was the 1911 colt from airsoft eire and it never let me down 7 shots always found there target!

definitely wouldn't get an galaxy, my opinion. I'd go for an Mp7 or an MP9 if you're really looking for an SMG/PDW.

I didnt see that if i can get co2 mags to fit my 1911s good luck green gas =D

love 1911 but the co2 ones have that horrible mag thing hanging out of the bottom so this one is very nice, migth be worth asking Hobby if they can source the mags for them too :)

Yeah defo i have a gold meu and if i can get those slim co2 mags to fit it ill never look at my m9s again lol!

we're kinda thread jacking now but the mags off that pistol won't fit, there is a semi circle cut out on either side of the inside of the mag well on that co2 1911 to allow the co2 capsule in the mag to fit in the pistol also I doubt that your MEU/1911's will take the co2 without either A putting it over the joule or B breaking the thing as not all GBB can take Co2

It ain't no thang! Decided on an asg cz 75 co2. Thanks anyway tho ;)
