I was looking at this today as a possible gift for someone for Xmas. I was told it doesn't play 45's but it says this in the blurb:

Compatible to 18cm/25cm and 30cm Records.
Built in adaptor for 45 RPM records included

So I was just wondering if anyone could clarify what that actually means for me please.

    Many thanks

Looking at the specs for that record player it doesn't confirm the playing speeds but pretty much all players of this type have 33 & 45 rpm speeds, some have 78rpm too. As regards the adaptor some 7" 45 rpm records come without a centre, meaning that if you put them directly on the platter the rotating spindle would swing them round like a hula-hoop - not the best for musical enjoyment :D!

In order to play this type of record many record players include an adaptor, like this, which fits into the hole & allows the 45 to be more securely fitted to the spindle, letting you play your records as normal.
