Finally! Been waiting for a Sega Nomad companion for years. Fingers crossed it's of good build quality.

I'd say if the build is half as good as the Nomad, we will all be fighting over them...the thoughts of playing Cybernator, Axeley and Actraiser on the go.....drool

I'd much rather it had the Japanese/EU colour scheme (might be easy to modify the buttons?) but it looks decent enough.

Apparently the speakers let out a very high pitch sound when you turn it on and it doesn't go away unless you use headphones.

That would put me off it a bit.

Ah damn it, there's always an annoying catch, isn't there?

I wonder is it just a speaker shielding problem? (similar to the Vectrex) Might be easy enough to fix.

Seems normal enough for these sorts of things.
They always have rubbish battery life.

I think it does run off standard Nokia batteries so you can have a few I suppose.

It's still an emulation even though it uses original carts,

otherwise they'd have to take old parts from SNES consoles to put each unit together!

Do I smell a low pass filter mod on the horizon to curb the high pitch noise problem with the speakers?

So is a snes jr just an emulator, because it hasn't got the exact original chips in normal snes consoles?

Actually that may not help if the noise is due to interference form the LCD screen.
