Oil for Seat Leon

Hi all,

Looking to find out what oil I should use for my 2008 1.9TDI Seat Leon Stylance 105bhp?

vw spec 505.01 or 507.00 I think.
The best value Ive seen are the oils available through the main dealers or better again through a northern Ireland main dealer. You can get the vw quantum branded longlife oil for about €40 here (5L)with the standard interval oil cheaper. Other than that, you will be looking at stuff like castrol edge which is mad expensive and comes in 4L cans to make it worse given that you will need about 4.5L

Vw dealers are now doing the 5l 5w 30 for 25e all in.i can confirm as this is where we buy our oil for our garage.u won't get beter also I hate going to main dealers for there prices but there after dropping there prices serious new pads for the new Passat are cheaper again at 29e a set

PD spec oil or the 505.00? I know an audi dealer parts guy wanted to sell me 505.00 - for a PD engine. He insisted that this is what is going into them which is a little worrying given that he is supplying a main dealer service department.

It's there quantum brand oil that they use themselves.and to answer the question as to y so cheap it's to stop people going to the motor factors.which it has in some cases.even there timing belt kits I got the timing belt kit and water pump for the new model golf there a week ago and all in total cost me 180e now I no im in the trade but the local motor factor wanted 270e plus vat wit my discount so that's a saving of about 100e not bad in fairness for a oem kit.

505.01 if its on short service 507.00 if its longlife

That one isn't the long life 5w30 oil that meets 507.00 spec. It is the non long life as specified for Fords etc. They do sell the long life oil at a good price as well but it is much more than €25

Is that a trade price?

I know they were selling the Quantum Longlife 5w/30 for €40 and the Quantum synta which is (505.00) not PD spec at all for €20.

Quantum platinum is the one for standard intervals and is 5w40 I believe. Service guy in main dealer i visited didnt stock the platinum at all and told me that I didnt see it in this country. I hadnt actually seen it in this country but it does exist.

Fair play to you if you are buying the 5L cans of Quantum Longlife III at that price. I know their Synta Z 5w30 is around that price but the Longlife is substantially more expensive with the dealer I buy from.

In any case these are trade prices so suggesting to the OP that they can walk into a dealer and buy 5L of oil for €25 is a bit misleading.
