    can someone explain to me the difference between a normal hard drive and a green hard drive please.

    I'm guessing a green hard drive means it consumes less power.

    They run at a slower speed so use less power, not worth it in my opinion.

    Green drives are ideal for secondary storage drives. Movies, music, photos etc. They tend to be cheaper per GB and there's no need for a fast drive for these things.

    I wouldn't use one as an OS drive in a performance-oriented PC. Also I think most of them arent suitable for RAID.
