I found a Leica CL in my house

I took up an interest in digital photography about a year ago and just the other day I found a Leica CL in my house. My mothers uncle gave it to her years ago and it was almost forgotten about. I'm interested in learning to use it but there are some things I don't quite understand about the camera/film photography so I have a few questions.

Firstly, (purely out of curiosity) how good of a find was this? I get that it was the little brother of a very popular camera from a bit of googling but I really don't know a huge amount about it.

Secondly, there was a roll of film still inside it... Which I'll drop in to get developed as soon as I can - I don't know when the roll is from though? It has an ISO equivalent on it... Would that mean that it is relatively recent? And if it's not, would it be spoiled as it's been sitting around for so long?

In terms of using the camera, is the choice of film essentially the same as choosing the ISO for a digital photo or is there more to it? Wikipedia was a bit confusing on that one...

    Thanks in advance!

40mm Summicron-C. There is another lens apparently... I'm just not sure where it is yet. I've no interest in selling it though!
