    Hi
I am going to a concert in the Oylmpia tomorrow night, I'm planning on going into city tomorrow afternoon to do abit of shopping and meet a friend for food before gig, I'll be driving to Waterford after it. Would it be a good idea to park at the luas newlands cross and get luas in and out to stephens green?
    Is parking there free?
What time do they run until and will it be safe enough on the return journey? (i.e. what type of people travel on it?, I'll be alone)
    Thanks!!

You won't get directly from Red Cow (Newlands Cross) to St Stephens Green - they are different lines.

Best you'll get is to Abbey Street and walk across.

If I were you I'd just drive into town and park in Fleet Street 24 hr car park. Obviously cost may be a factor for you.

I agree. The walk between Red Line and Green Line is significant, especially on your own late at night. The first time I used the Luas I thought the Green Line met the Red at Abbey street but I was sooo wrong, it goes from St Stephens green, 15 minute walk away.

If you're going to the Olympia, and don't mind meeting your friend around Henry St or Temple Bar, then you might as well get the Red Line to Jervis. Neither of those places are more than a 5 minute walk away.

If you have to go to Stephen's Green, you might as well park in town. I think the shopping centre car park there has an all day rate.

Baring in mind that most carparks are between 2.50-4 euro an hour! The 15min walk might be more appealing! I always use the park and ride at Red Cow. Convenient and you on your way home already when you get to your car!

There's Park and Ride on the Green line too if you particularly want to go to Stephen's Green - 5 of them: http://www.luas.ie/park-and-ride/

Personally if I was going to the Olympia I'd opt for the Red Line.

If you really don't fancy the walk, on the way into town you could get off at Heuston train station and take the 145 to Stephen's Green, then shop your way back up Grafton St towards the Olympia. Then after the concert you're about 6 minutes away from the Jervis St stop.

    Luas fare - €4
Parking at red cow - €4
    =€8

    or

all day parking at Stephens Green Centre - €12

if you're planning to do a lot of shopping you're probably better off driving into town.
