I am thinking of buying a Mac desktop for my son for Christmas, he has been asking for one for a while and is using the computer for his studies also. Anyone know where in Ireland is the best / cheapest to buy.

There is no real difference on Mac products anywhere due to tight margins. Have a look at this locator for some ideas....

Best place is actually the Apple Refurb store.

    http://store.apple.com/ie/browse/home/specialdeals/mac

Don't worry if there is nothing there now, they update it all the time and they'll have new products up soon. They're basically as good as new yet you make nice savings.

If your son is in school/college then you can money off via the Education route. Go to Campus.ie to find out more. I think it's 10% off. You just have to tell Apple what school/college your son goes to,

Harvey Norman are good for Apple and they offer Quick Credit. Pay 10% of the price up front and the bulk is interest free credit.
