That's an old title, the correct title is 'Paramedic Supervisor'. As the title of the role states, the Paramedic Supervisor supervises in the day to day running of the ambulance station. They are also form a part of the structure of the management of the National Ambulance Service. Paramedic Supervisors also form part of the ambulance roster so respond to calls with their crew partner.

Would the question put in your first post not be better if it were something along the lines of 'What are the roles and responsibilities of the Paramedic Supervisor?' Instead of 'What do they do all day?' ?

As far as i know, a similar role to a garda Sergeant, theyll respond to normal calls aswell, as looking after rosters, general fleet management, station management, routine stuff for the station etc etc

Pardonez moi, pour mon poor command of the English lingo - There was me thinking they sat in offices all day occasionally attending meetings with an rrv parked outside.

    Now I know:

the Paramedic Supervisor supervises in the day to day running of the ambulance station.

They are also form a part of the structure of the management of the National Ambulance Service.

Paramedic Supervisors also form part of the ambulance roster so respond to calls with their crew partner.

they'll respond to normal calls as well, as looking after rosters

    and

    general fleet management
    station management
    routine stuff for the station

So they pretty much would have everything under control and are the top dog?

Fair play to them. You need a fleet manager. You need someone to manage the station. You need someone to to all the routine "inbox" stuff". Looks like its all taken care of - Thank you for educating me. The paramedic supervisor (apologies for referring to him/her as an LEMt) has it all under control.

Nope, correct title is still Leading Emergency Medical Technician. Often known by other names around the country, but it is envisaged to be changed to Paramedic Supervisor at some stage, along with the introduction of Clinical Supervisors.

Check the new management flow charts and you'll see the new titles which include Paramedic Supervisor, they also include Operations Resource Manager (which was the Ambulance Officer over a station or stations).
