Tomorrow I need to be somewhere. The dart will take me halfway.
Then I need to get on another train whose website

    a. would not allow me to purchase a ticket.
    b. does not give any indication of the price of the ticket if one were to turn up to the station and purchase said ticket
    c. fails to give an indication of the 'fee' involved in bringing ones bicycle on the train.

LAST WEEK I tried to purchase train tickets, so I would have the tickets in advance of making my journey.

LAST WEEK this is the message I got from the Irish Rail website while trying to purchase a ticket
Your selection cannot be purchased online. You have selected T (Ticket Only) for all parts of the journey.
To reserve a seat - a P (Premier/1st Class) or S (Standard) box must be ticked for at least one part of the journey

But as you can see there is no option to click p or s.

    What is this?

P is premium ticket, disregard that. S is standard. Can't book at the moment on the IE website. It will cost you the same at the station anyway.

You can't book suburban or DART tickets online - you need to go to the station.

So wouldnt it be better to explain that to the user of the website,
ie. put: "You can't book suburban or DART tickets online - you need to go to the station"

    In the field where

Your selection cannot be purchased online. You have selected T (Ticket Only) for all parts of the journey.
To reserve a seat - a P (Premier/1st Class) or S (Standard) box must be ticked for at least one part of the journey

    pops up?

It goes without saying, but its so frustrating, and equally annoying that the website doesn't list the prices from one station to another.

    Boo.

I don't know of any other city where one can buy a single suburban fare on-line.

    http://irishrail.ie/your_ticket/fares_enquiries.asp

Fare is likely to be between €2 and €4.50 single.

Bicycles are free on DART / commuter services, but access is time restricted: http://www.irishrail.ie/your_journey/bicycle_information.asp

    Boo.

It does if you look on the homepage and click on the bit marked fares via a scroll down for suburban trips and a general list for main line trips. For Online bookings it tells you the price of each leg. The sites not brilliant but that bit isn't hard to find, in "fare" ness :)

Edit, sorry for the bad joke :)
