This seems like a great deal...wonder if they mispriced it. Just bought one in Liffey Valley store. They are twice the price on Pixmania.

It's actually USB 3.0/2.0 and not just 2.0 as stated on the PC World website.

    Gx

    Maybe because it's USB 2.0? Dabs have a USB 3.0 version for €147.01 -

Still looks like a good deal to me.

    Good spot.

There was a guy on Adverts.ie a while back selling Verbatim 2TB drives with eSATA as well as USB2 connections, for about €90 or €95 IIRC. Does anyone remember the seller? I did a search for "verbatim" and "2TB", but no luck...

Yes about 10 months ago under a few guises but no sign of him recently. Had site electricbay, and ebay under same name, also cropping up here in some dispute / discussion but seems resolved. Not great at replying to queries iirc.

Yesterday I got a Seagate 2TB HDD for €89.99 in the Eason shop on O'Connell street. It is
€149 on Komplett so I thought it was decent value. They also had 1TB 2.5" drives for around €79 I think

€90 for 2Tb is excellent, haven't seen that value before

Tempted to get the one in easons, just wondering about usb 3.0, I'm not too bothered about it just for the advantage of the speed boost for transferring files but could it be of benefit for accessing data on the external like for playing HD movies off of it?

USB 2 seems to be more than enough for media players and the like. I personally play files from 2.2g to 15g with no issues and that directly in my Samsung 7 series TV.

Issues with media players that I have come across tend not to be USB/Hard drive related but down to the age or "chip" inside the player itself.

That a good price for a 2TB by the way. I bough something simalr recently but to take the drive out of it as a 2TB drive is 150+ these days!
