3DS Battery Pack

My girlfriend is getting me a 3DS for Christmas and I've been reading about them a bit, one thing that pops up everywhere is the battery life. Would it worth my while to buy one of these or is the battery ok with 3D turned off? I'll be using it a fair bit over Christmas due to travelling a fair bit and I don't wanna be without my new toy! Or is there a better (reasonably priced) alternative available? I would rather buy in Europe because I wanna be sure it's here by Christmas! But if I must, I'll order from US!

Also, the main games I've suggested are Mario 3D, Zelda, Mario Kart and Starfox, Mario is top of the list and the rest are just incase any of my family ask my girlfriend what they should get me :D are there any others that are a must have?

    Thanks!

There was a problem earlier where removing your battery made it so you couldn't repeat streetpass with people you had previously streetpassed, but firmware updates have fixed that.

The battery life isn't great, but I haven't played my 3ds for huge bursts of time myself so haven't run into any real problems with it.
I'm still waiting for a decent solution, and with the circle pad pro monstrosity coming out, if you do get something then decide to get the monstrosity, chances are they won't work together.
My advice is to wait, or just get something like a battery you charge and then plug into the 3ds to charge the 3ds like http://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerBee-Executive-handhelds-including-Nintendo/dp/B004LADZF2/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1322858744&sr=8-15 I guess.

Nyko is pretty much the only battery pack I saw recommended on the GameFAQs 3DS board.
There's a version with a dock, or with a full enclosure (so like a case/grip + battery together) available as well, I think.

So once you have the extra battery capacity and the extra circle pad, the must have 3DS accessory:

What I still can't believe is that Nintendo haven't put a rechargable battery pack in that circle pad monstrosity. Talk about a perfect opportunity missed.

My own solution is this -3D on the go doesnt work for me. Therefore if I'm out and about, 3D off. The console has lastest all of my journeys so far fine.

When I get home, 3D on if it works, then when the battery gets low -

What would you get out of the battery on 2D? Is it significantly better, the whole 3D thing doesn't bother me much anyway.

I haven't used it in a while, but it's lasted me three hour bus journeys without dying. Wifi is another battery eater.

Here's a breakdown on the times I found on another site -

    - Test 1: Full 3D, wireless on, full backlight, running a game - 3:08
    - Test 2: Full 3D, wireless on, backlight on 2 (out of 5), running a game - 4:18
    - Test 3: No 3D, wireless off, backlight on 2, running a game - 4:42
    - Test 4: Normal playing - wireless almost always on, system kept in sleep mode for StreetPass, varying levels of 3D used* - 3:55
