home insurance claim

Can one claim on home insurance for a new mobile phone taken in house break in. Only snag is phone was got with cherry points. Insurance company want receipes for everything that was taken but I dont have and actual receipt for this as it was not technicially purchased. Any advice from you insurance experts out there?
