    Hi Guys i dont use the forums much but just a quick question. I mostly instal sky but im doing a fair bit of saorview now and i was using the triax TR112 receiver i know there are cheaper ones but im relly impressed with this particular one! I was paying 62 plus the vat and i just wanted to know could i get them anywhere else cheaper?? The cheapest i can get them for is 56 euro from TvSatStore.com but i have to take 24 for that price! Any idea where i might get them cheaper or is that the cheapest? thanks:D

    The triax boxes aren't really cheap anywhere! try tvtrade

    Triax make Dishes and Aerials OK.
    Their expertise is NOT in setboxes, nor are they cheap anywhere. Look at other set-boxes.

    Tvtrade are no where near 56! I think I'll stick with tvsatstore they seem to be the cheapest and they have next day delivery!

    Yes triax have made a few poor receivers but the Tr112 is by far the best saorview approved receiver!

    You have a Lab or Lab test results to prove this?

    I'm not saying you are wrong, just curious.
    In what features, audio, video and construction etc is it "better"?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 Johnsat

    First of all look at the other recievers on the market that are saorview approved! they look like they all come from the same factory with different names stuck on the front of them, im after putting in nearly 50 of the TR112 not one faulty so far! the media player is excellent it allows you to play movies, music and photos through a hard-drive!

    Wow......€56 is a great price especially as their on-line price is €69.95.

    TC.

    Most are Vestel (made in Turkey). That doesn't make the TR112 better or worse.

    Able to play disc media is common and not on my list of priorities. Many do that. That doesn't make the TR112 a better box for most users simply wanting "converted".

    50 isn't very many. When you have installed 500 to 1000 tell me how many fail.

    So you basically like the look of the TR112 better.

    It's 56 when you get 24 have a look when you select the product it then gives quantity prices!

    I could write a long list of how I think the tr112 is the best but it's just my opinion! The overall function and menu navigation is better also the picture compared to the walker receivers! In fact I started with the walker and I had several tuner issues with them!

    The ferguson ariva is a better solution in my opinion, I can't understand why people would buy a box to watch 8 channels or so..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 Johnsat

    Ya i agree the combi receiver is the way forward there!Ferguson were terrible at the start but 30 software updates later lets hope they have there problems solved!:D

    http://tvsatstore.com/index.php/contact To be honest this on-line supplier don't supply a contact number or tell us where he is based which would make me suspicious. Even his prices are expensive compared to other online and public retail suppliers. As far as i know there is only two on-line suppliers on this island that sell only to the TRADE. That's Vanjak and ATC.

    I spotted it after the first post......

    Ya i thought the same without a contact number they do everything by email, im after getting a few orders off them now and to be honest im very happy with them, i asked them why is there such a price difference from a quatity of 1 to say a quantity of 12 and he said he didnt want to be cutting out the installer from making money off the sale of a receiver, which you have to admit the likes of tvtrade they say on there homepage that you can do everything your self which is bad for the trade!

    Who are ATC? Vanjak are up in the north and if you have a technical question your wasting your time asking them! Im happy with tvsatstore for the moment you can ask them anything and he will reply within the same day sometimes with in the same hour, when channel 4 hd changed and without me asking he sent an email with an updated channel list for the triax combi which i loaded onto a usb! if i wasnt buying off them it would be kd electronics cork who also give a good service!

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 3,585 Mod ✭✭✭✭St Senan

    Compare prices between tvsatstore.com and TVtrade or ATC for a Saorview approved receiver and a Aerial.

    tvsatstore.com = €95.71 delivered
    ATC = €91.90 delivered
    Tvtrade = €83.13 delivered

    Have you seen the quantity prices? i buy in quantity as i said before TvSatStore discourage diy sales so his pricing is the best in quantity! check it out bud!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,157 ✭✭✭Compton

    Hi Johnsat the only way a on-line supplier can discourage DIY sales is for that supplier to be a Trade only supplier who wont sell to the public. He also has reasonable prices on a small quantity instead of trying to sell a bulk load, And has variety of different items to sell. I do know that some suppliers sell both to the public and Trade. I like most installers deal in Trade only.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 Johnsat

    TvTrade is far from trade only!!:D

    Hi Johnsat. Yes tvtrade sell to both the public and installers. {I have no connection with tvtrade} Some guys would say the Name [tvtrade] should not mention trade but that's their business. As I said I only deal with trade suppliers. The website that you are promoting is not cheap for an installer to buy from. I have compared prices on stock and tvsatstore prices are expensive compared to Tvtrade, Vanjak, and ATC.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23 Johnsat

    I guess well just have to dissagree! vanjak ot tvtrade cant beat the trade prices i can get off tvsatstore, maybe because its mainly Triax equipment, its also quantity i buy in maybe thats it! Vanjak have good prices but ever get a pallet off them?? talk about a mess!!

    Hi Johnsat. If you want to Disagree then fair enough. But you came here started the thread looking for cheap Saorview equipment.You mention a on-line supplier called tvsatstore.com (based in Cork where your from) that no body ever heard of until you mentioned it. I have suggested 3 on-line suppliers to you that work out cheaper. Johnsat if tvsatstore gave a Contact phone number {land-line} a Name and Address plus show that they are Vat Reg on that site. Then people would not be suspicious. Your a customer of theirs why don't you mention that to Him/Them. You never know they might get more installers buying from them. Anyhow with all the bulk load of Saorview Equipment that you are buying from tvsatstore you must be flat out installing in cork is there any Jobs going down that way because every where else the work is just ticking over.
