Is it necessary to run in a new set of tyres to make sure they last longer? i.e. only drive at a certain speed?

Put two on there and drove back about 50km from the tyre shop..

Was at 100 - 110kmph most of the time but might of hit 115kmph the odd time.

not sure about lasting longer, but they wont have full grip for a few miles due to bits of rubber etc left over from manufacturing ptocess

It ain't the rubber it's the release fluid but haven't heard about breaking them in for longer mileage.

Either burn out of the tyre fitting place, you need a limited slip diff for this, or keep well back for the first hundred km.

I once saw two guys in a park kissing, and, before I read the OP's post, that was the gayest thing I'd ever seen.

    Answer: of fúcking course not!
