Emmissions Light - 2004 Honda Accord - Cold Weather?

    Hi,

I have a 2004 Honda Accord i-ctdi with about 80k miles on it.

I had some trouble with it last winter during the cold weather (fixed by changing the fuel filter and fixing the EGR valve). I have had no trouble with it this year and only put up about 5k miles since then.

Yesterday, the Emmissions light showed up. I pulled in and restarted but the light stayed on. I have been driving it since without any problems but the the light is still on.

Anyone got any idea what might have caused this? It was pretty cold yesterday evening when I started the car (about 3 degrees). Could this have anything to do with it?

Does your car have a diesel particulate filter? If so then it should re-generate itself or it can be "force regenerated" by your main dealer. If it regenerates itself, the light will go out itself.
