    im just wondering if any plumbers can tell me would they honestly reccomend heatpumps either air or ground source im looking to hear about good experience and bad would like to know preferred unit makes and also an idea of running cost
    also would like to know if you own a heatpump and the company that supplied it have gone bust what you do as regards service

    Air source i have no time for unless you are building a home to very high standards of air tightness and insulation , where it will only be used as a boost or backup unit really.

    ground source works well if the installation is done correctly and the house is well insulated and good air tightness etc.

    I wouldnt reccomend any unit in particular cause i have seen too many suppliers etc go bust these last few years to be reccomending any.

    Obviously ground source costs a lot more, personally when i go to build i would be pumping more money into minimising heat loss rather than trying to find cheap ways to heat house.
