It depends on the T&Cs of your policy. Some have a fixed period for a replacement vehicle. I'd be inclined just to double check with your insurance company just to make sure.

Also, if your insured vehicle was subject of a finance agreement, the insurer have a responsibility to name both yourself and your finance provider on the cheque. This may cause a delay as strictly speaking the finance on the vehicle should be settled prior to any surplus being issued to you.

If you decide not to settle finance first, your finance company may well find out. If the vehicle subject of the finance agreement no longer exists you may be liable to pay the full outstanding balance immediately as the contract has effectively been terminated.

    Just saying.

    That's all good news.

I'd give their insurer a call just to confirm. They'd prefer you give them a call than for you to be driving around in their vehicle uninsured. Did you sign anything when you collected the vehicle?

Presumed from the above that the insurance was to have run out this evening.
