Apologies, this is very off topic!

But, I think it was on here I saw the suggestion that's the reason I ask again (old laptop died so lost a lot of info).

There was a link to some anti or other who had come up with an idea on how to use a mobile phone to automatically send a message about an intruder/tresspasser being on a particular patch of ground. It was not a commercial product, but a DIY job.

Does anyone happen to have the link to the "how to"? I know a guy who's interested in the idea.

Thanks in advance and apologies again!

John I don't know of any mobile phone that can do what your asking it to do.
But I have devices here that take a sim card and are programed to switch circuits on/off vie txt calls to it. Ie operate electric gates etc
And it will send a txt to a mobile number if a switch is tripped at source.
I could never get the yoke to work right but I'm sure it would if I kept at it long enough.

    Hi Guys

I install this sort of thing for a living security/cctv/alarms electric gates

Came across a great product last year a trail cam with 80 day battery life and can send pictures via sim card with 2g/3g coverage to an email address or phone

Installed alot of them last year with great success (fly tipping/un manned areas)etc

They are pricey but worth it!

    :D

I have sourced two old Nokia phones. Both of which have the dot and o ring around it type button connections for soldering. Both switch on *Phew*

Now I just need to try one, so I need to get a SIM card for it (no point in buying two in case this don't work.

I've a good feeling though
