Laptop has been getting quite hot lately, even going as far as around the keyboard and the touch pad.

Its always kept on a level surface to allow some air in underneath, and the fan is nearly always on, and at times noisey.

Question is would I be better using compressed air or a vacum to clean around the vents as some noticable dust inside them, and any other suggestions.

Alot of this heat seems to be radiating around the hard drive, would it be worth while or advicable removing this to give a clean around as well (understand will more than likely have to factory reset if doing this).

A quick blast of compressed air might help. Do it outside / near an open window.

No need to wipe the computer to take out a hard drive. Wouldn't do it in this case, only thing moving in that area are the discs in the hard drive itself, and that's self contained.

Try running like advanced system care (google it). Antivirus software constantly accessing the hard drive might be a factor.

I'm a fan of backing up the computer to a external hard drive, and format, reinstall.

Great to get rid of crap.

Some laptops are easier to defluff than others, google youtube for disassembly videos for your model. You'll need small screwdrivers.

I had a laptop in a few weeks ago with the same symptoms and it turned out that the wireless card was nackerd. Worth a look at where its situated.
