    Guys,

Where's the best place online or otherwise (I'm in Sligo) to buy a decent but cheap car stereo? Its for my work truck so want something that works properly, but not over the top expensive either. Not bothered by brand.

    Thanks

You'll probably have to get an adaptor/cover to fit the fascia. I would imagine the Lidl/Aldi radios are 1 DIN high whereas the radio slot in Mondeos are 1.5 DIN (at least my old MK3 was). Also you may have problems getting the steering wheel controls working.

cheers. sounds like it might be too much hasle. the sound has got terrible on the radio (CD player fine). worse on wet day, sometimes can't tune any station. think it might be damp way down in wires.

Did you replace the whole unit or just the mast?
Did you scratch underneath the roof to give it a good earth prior to fitting the new one?

just picked up the cheapest one in halfords and screwed in on:o the aerial mast only that is.

while its been hit and miss since then, i noticed a break in in recently (some skanger must have twisted).

I might try a new one before i give u on the stereo.

any particular one I should pick up ?

That looks nice. would it simply slot into a 2002 mondeo estate?

€9.99 for delivery, not so bad. Nice price for a good brand like that.

It's a standard ISO connection but you may need some sort of adapter to make it slot in
if your original stereo is not a standard fitment.

Check out the price of a new unit at a ford dealership.
Some parts can be cheap enough.

You need an adapter to fit them to a Mondeo (Surround thingy, as standard radio are 1.75 din)

You also need new iso leads, to convert your Ford wiring to universal wiring for the majority of steros (Simply plugs in)

Lidl/Aldi radio are simply the best, all the gadgets and on a budget (I even think the new ones have bluetooth aswell)
