    Hey

I'm trying to partition my hard drive so I can dual boot XP and windows 7, but the XP set-up keeps getting a blue screen error.. i think its because the new partition is an "Extended Partition" and wont be anything but a logical drive.

any tips on how to fix this?

7B , incorrect or missing hard drive controller drivers ,
you usually see it if you move a hdd to a different mother board

rule is install microsoft OS's by order of date and then other OS's , because microsoft OS's don't play nice with stuff they don't understand, ie. XP won't like Vista / 7 Bootloaders and you have to fix them afterwards
