House Alarm going off during the night for no reason

Set internal alarm going to bed and then at about 3 am went off. Report states upstairs window .....but it was fully shut.

This happened a bit last year, especially in winter during cold snap. It wasn't particularly cold last night but raining at the time.

We have a cat that sometimes sits on that window outside ledge but can't imagine he is causing it off.

Any ideas how to solve? nothing worse than begining woken from a deep sleep and not being able to go back off:mad:

More than likely a faulty sensor. Do you have a multimeter?

You could get a cheap one for a tenner, I think argos sell cheap ones too. To be honest, you might be better off getting someone to have a look at it. Maybe your brother could help?

What can happen, although rare enough, and normally with timber windows is they expand and contract when they get hot and cold. At night the windows can be heard cracking as they cool down and can set the shock off.
