What's the point of a trap if it's non-lethal? You'll just trap the "little fella", and let him go so he can come back again the next day.

He can take it for a walk down the road so the little fella can visit someone else. Sorry I don't know where but try the hardware shops, e.g Woodies,B&Q,O'Higgins,McDonoghs(sp?)

Its easy make one! take a 2 litre 7up bottle and cut the top off about 3/4 the way up the bottle and insert top back into bottle and hold top in place with clothes pegs, basically mouse can get into bottle climbing through the top which is now pointing back into the bottle. Probably help to put some biscuit in there too. Normally this trap is placed upright, otherwise you can find loads of humane mouse traps on amazon.co.uk

You need to check where your pipes and water outlets enter and exit the house, and make sure there are no gaps which might need to be sealed.

I don't know where you can buy these non lethal traps, but you could always make your own.

Get a large bucket, one which a mouse won't be able to climb out of, get a stick or straight branch which is just slightly longer than the diameter of the bucket.

Slide an empty cardboard toilet-roll tube over the stick, and jam both ends of the stick into the bucket near the top. The tube should be able to roll freely on the stick.

Put some peanut butter on one side of the toilet-roll tube and slide it near one edge of the bucket. This will be the bait. The peanut-butter should be paced on one side but also on the edge towards the centre of the bucket, and the butteres side should be facing upwards.

Using a piece of timber as a ramp, place it so the top of the ramp is near the bait. You can put a tiny piece of peanut-butter on the ramp to encourage poor Itchy to climb it.

When poor Itchy gets to the top, he will try and climb out onto the tube and fall into the bucket.

Or you could always get a cat .....

Ah come on, just get a proper trap and kill the dirty yoke and you can be sure there are more where he came from.

Woodies & B&Q had them. The tip traps are simple & work well - use a bit of chocolate as bait.

McDonaghs Ballybane €9plus for a fairly large trap that can hold up to 8-10 mice

The tool shop near Debenhams has them. Whatever you do, if you think you've caught one, don't look into it to check. They can jump out!
