Can someone please help as I am worried about this.

My concern is that I have not cancelled my medical card when I left to go to England over 6 months ago.

I understand I could cancel the card, but it says it expires early next year. So feel might be better to wait.

Can someone advise me will this be an issue.

Give it up if you have a job, decent thing to do, simple.

I'd imagine they would only be concerned if you used it over here while you were living in England. With all the things you have to think about when you move country, cancelling a medical card would be far down on the list (simply because you know you will not be able to use it) and they have to understand this.

If you know you won't be back to live in Ireland before the expiry date, I would cancel it just to do the right thing. (Edit: either way, it should be cancelled as your circumstances have changed.) It shows initiative on your part if they did decide to bring the issue up.

    Thanks for comment.

I suppose I am a little reluctunt to cancel the card incase I decide to go back to Ireland.

I must stress I have not used the card since I went to England.

The advice you give me on the fact it might only be an issue if I used the card while in England was helpful. I was off the assumption just simply owning the card even if not using it might be an offence.
